Dr. O’Hara has taught high school and middle school English, theatre, and a Shakespeare elective. He has also directed plays and musicals and advised a poetry club. After supervising the English and social studies departments at North Shore Middle School, Dr. O’Hara joined the English, reading, and library departments at the Oyster Bay – East Norwich CSD. Believing that great leaders help others make their tacit learning explicit in order to engage in purposeful practice and learn from experience, Dr. O’Hara visits classrooms and collaborates with teachers, facilitating inquiry into problems of practice. Dr. O’Hara has a BFA in Theatre from Long Island University, graduate degrees in education from Hofstra University and Stony Brook University, and an Ed.D. from St. John’s University.
