The Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District's Summer Sports Camp, proudly sponsored by the Athletic Department and the Oyster Bay Athletic Booster Club, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this summer. This milestone marks two decades of providing students with a fun and educational environment where they can develop their athletic skills, make new friends, and enjoy their summer.

Under the expert guidance of program coordinators Jen Iles and Elaine Ranaldo, the camp offers a diverse range of activities designed to cater to all ability levels. With 15 sessions to choose from, participants are sure to find something that excites them.

A typical day at the camp includes:

  • Warm-ups and stretching

  • Instructional stations

  • Lectures and demonstrations

  • Skill contests

  • Team games

  • Special activities and awards


The Oyster Bay Summer Sports Program provides students with an affordable opportunity to receive top-notch sports instruction from experienced coaches. These coaches bring their knowledge and expertise to deliver activities that are both enjoyable and educational. Camp participants also get the chance to meet many of the Varsity and Junior Varsity coaches they may play for in the future.

Sessions are available in a variety of sports, including:

  • Fencing

  • Baseball

  • Volleyball

  • Softball

  • Tennis

  • Lacrosse

  • Basketball

  • And more


One of the most popular offerings is the Project Adventure camp for grades 3-7. This camp features different games, activities, and challenges every day, ensuring that students are always engaged and excited. For younger kids in grades 2-6, there is a multi-sport camp at Roosevelt School, and a week of co-ed cheerleading for grades 1-4.

Sessions run between 4-5 hours a day for a week and take place across all three Oyster Bay-East Norwich school campuses: Oyster Bay High School, James H. Vernon School, and Theodore Roosevelt School.

As the camp celebrates its 20th year, it continues to be a cornerstone of the community, offering students a chance to stay active, learn new skills, and have fun during their summer break. With its wide range of activities and dedicated staff, the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District's Summer Sports Camp is a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to grow and thrive.
