Oyster Bay–East Norwich Named One of America's 10 Outstanding School Districts of 2026

The Oyster Bay–East Norwich Central School District has been recognized by The Education Magazine as one of the ten most outstanding school districts in the country for 2026 – and our community's story earned the cover! We are incredibly proud of this national recognition, which belongs to every educator, family and community member who has helped make OBEN the remarkable place it is.
The feature highlights the district's progress under Superintendent Dr. Francesco Ianni, whose leadership since 2021 has driven outcomes that speak for themselves: a graduation rate that climbed to a historic 100 percent, AP exam scores of 3 or higher now achieved by 84 percent of test-takers and four-year college application rates that have risen from 82 to 97 percent. The recognition also notes that students with disabilities achieved a 100 percent graduation rate in both 2024 and 2025, a milestone that reflects the district's deep commitment to every learner.
None of this happens without the dedication of our teachers and staff, who show up every day committed to the belief that drives everything we do: that that every child who walks through our doors deserves to dream big and be supported every step of the way. And none of it happens without a community that invests in its schools and its children. This recognition is a reflection of all of you.
We invite you to read the full feature and share in this well-earned acknowledgment of what we've built together – a district that truly empowers all students to achieve excellence.
