Welcome to the Oyster Bay - East Norwich Central School District's budget information webpage. This page is dedicated to providing residents with detailed information regarding the 2026-2027 School Budget. All information that is shared at the Board of Education meetings will be posted here and will continue to be updated throughout the budget season.
The Annual Budget Vote and Trustee Election will take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Oyster Bay High School in the Chorus Room from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm.
A Public Hearing on the 2026-2027 proposed budget will be held on Tuesday May 5, 2026 at 7:30 pm at the regular Board Meeting.

Candidates for the office of the Board of Education run at-large. There will be three offices available. One office for the balance of an unexpired term from May 19, 2026 through June 30, 2027, and two offices for a four-year term from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2030. The candidates receiving the highest vote totals will be elected to the four-year terms of office. The candidate receiving the next highest vote total will be elected to the balance of the unexpired term.
Nominating Petitions for candidates for a member of the Board of Education can be picked up starting on Wednesday February 4, 2026 in person on school days from 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. at the Office of the District Clerk in the Administration Building located at 1 McCouns Lane, Oyster Bay, NY 11771.
Completed petitions must be filed in the District Clerk’s Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday April 20, 2026. If you have any questions, please contact the District Clerk at DistrictClerk@obenschools.org.

To vote on the proposed 2026-2027 school budget and Board of Education election, you must be:
- 18 years of age or older;
- A resident of the Oyster Bay – East Norwich Central School District for at least 30 days prior to the voting date;
- Registered to vote with either the school district or Nassau County Board of Elections.
Registration for new residents, residents who have moved within the district, and residents who have not voted in the last four years can register at the Office of the District Clerk or with Nassau County Board of Elections. Please note that registering with the Office of the District Clerk will allow you to vote in School District elections only. For more information contact the District Clerk, at 516-624-6507.

Not sure if you are registered?
Voters who are unsure of their registration status may either call the Nassau County Board of Elections at 571-VOTE (8683) or search the State Board of Elections database.
The last day to register to vote is Thursday May 14, 2026.
Absentee Ballot and Early Mail Ballot Application:
Applications for absentee ballots and early mail ballots are obtainable during school business hours through the Office of the District Clerk or by clicking on the absentee or early mail application below.
Completed applications must be received by the District Clerk no earlier than Monday April 20, 2026.
If the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, the completed application must be received no later than Tuesday May 12, 2026.
If the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter, the completed application must be received no later than Monday, May 18, 2026 (the day before the election).

Receipt of Early Mail and Absentee Ballots:
No absentee voter’s ballot will be counted unless it is received in the Office of the District Clerk, by 5:00 p.m. on the day of the election, Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
2025-2026 Budget Information

The Annual Budget Vote and Trustee Election was held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Oyster Bay High School.
