Oyster Bay High School is proud to announce the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2025: Rose Lindstrom and Michael Olivero. Their remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication to their education exemplify the spirit of excellence within our school community.
Rose Lindstrom (valedictorian) is an exceptional student whose intellectual curiosity, leadership abilities, and compassion shine brightly. Throughout her high school journey, Rose has taken on the most rigorous academic schedule available, showcasing her passion for learning while also pursuing her love for music.
One of her most notable accomplishments is her recognition from College Board, where she stood out as one of only 27 students globally — amounting to just 0.04% of AP Seminar Exam takers in 2023 — to achieve a perfect score on this challenging, college-level examination. This achievement speaks volumes about her dedication and academic prowess.
Rose's interests are as diverse as her accomplishments, encompassing art history, business, international studies and mathematics. Driven by a desire to explore the world and connect with various communities, Rose draws inspiration from her family's extensive travels to countries like Italy, Japan, Spain, France and the United Kingdom.
In addition to her academic and musical pursuits, Rose exemplifies kindness and community spirit. She has initiated and run a school supply drive for our local pantry and she dedicates her weekends each winter to serve as a ski instructor for individuals with disabilities. Rose genuinely enjoys giving back, making a significant impact on those around her.
Michael Olivero (salutatorian) has consistently demonstrated admirable leadership, both in and out of the classroom during his time at Oyster Bay High School. As the student council president and executive board secretary, along with his membership in the Student Athletic Leadership Program and captaincy of the varsity football and lacrosse teams, Michael exemplifies outstanding leadership and teamwork.
His commitment to academics is equally impressive, as evidenced by the numerous awards he has earned and his involvement in various honor societies. Beyond his academic and athletic commitments, Michael's passion for music shines through as a prominent trumpet player in the school's music program.
Looking ahead, Michael plans to study finance at the collegiate level, a field in which he is sure to excel. He is known for his respectful demeanor, hard work and strong character, consistently demonstrating an inspiring work ethic and genuine commitment to excellence. Michael truly embodies the spirit of the graduating class, making him a role model for his peers.
