100% graduation rate, National Merit Semifinalists and Board of Education honored at Oyster Bay-East Norwich BOE meeting

At the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Board of Education meeting on Oct. 22, the district was honored by local officials and celebrated several achievements, including its 100% graduation rate and recognition of two National Merit Semifinalists.

Nassau County Legislator Samantha Goetz presented citations to Oyster Bay High School Principal Melissa Argaman, and Head of Guidance, Joy-Anne D’Anca, in recognition of Oyster Bay-East Norwich’s outstanding 100% graduation rate. This achievement reflects the district’s commitment to student success and academic excellence. Goetz also honored two students, Adrian Kim and Brandon Antonetti, who were named National Merit Semifinalists, recognizing their academic excellence and potential for future success.

In celebration of National School Board Recognition Week, Superintendent Dr. Francesco Ianni expressed his gratitude to the board of education for their dedication and tireless efforts on behalf of the district's students and community. He commended the board for their leadership, which has helped shape Oyster Bay-East Norwich into one of the top-performing districts.

The meeting also included key announcements. Dr. Ianni reminded attendees of the upcoming ribbon-cutting ceremony at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School on Saturday, October 26, as well as the district’s Parent University event, scheduled for October 24 at Oyster Bay High School.

Chris Schneider, CPA, provided a thorough review of the district’s 2023-2024 audit, highlighting the district's strong financial health and responsible stewardship of resources.

Assemblyman Jake Blumencranz joined the meeting to congratulate the board on the district’s 100% graduation rate, further acknowledging the board’s efforts in making Oyster Bay-East Norwich one of the best school districts in America. Blumencranz also extended his congratulations to the National Merit Semifinalists, Adrian Kim and Brandon Antonetti, recognizing their achievements as a reflection of the district's academic rigor.

The evening was a testament to the success of the district, the achievements of its students, and the commitment of its leadership.
